Powell Peralta Welinder Classic Blacklight Skateboard Deck - 9.62"

A special Back to the Future-themed release marking the film's 40th anniversary — and a fitting one, since Bones Brigade member Per Welinder actually worked as a stuntman for the movie's skateboard scenes.

V.C. Johnson illustrated the Per Welinder Viking Skull in 1984, drawing on Per's Swedish roots for the fanged, fantasy-style graphic. It first appeared on his freestyle model without the rock-texture background, which got added in an updated 1986 version. By 1987, a new full-length version was adapted for a street model as Per moved into freestyle/street demos. The eighth-century runic lettering spells out Per's name along with a quote he came up with himself: "Search and strive, push beyond with strength, yours not theirs, that is the key." The graphic also ran on t-shirts and stickers.
